ThyCa Moves its 2021 Annual Conference to a Virtual Meeting Due to COVID-19
04/2021ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. (ThyCa) is moving its 24th Annual International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference on October 22-24, 2021 to a virtual format because of the continuing challenges of COVID-19. The virtual meeting will feature educational and support sessions on treatment and research regarding thyroid cancer care.
“Deciding to hold the conference virtually was an incredibly difficult and disappointing decision to again make this year," said Gary Bloom, ThyCa Executive Director. "However, we have to consider the safety and health or our attendees and presenters. Additionally, Los Angeles, California, site of our 2021 conference still severely limits in-person meeting participation.”
“After last year’s very successful virtual conference, we are excited to be able to again offer the benefits of the conference to people worldwide who wouldn’t be able to join us in-person. We will greatly miss our in-person connections, and look forward to future meetings when the COVID-19 situation will hopefully be improved,” Bloom added.
