Free Workshop for Media and Medical Writers on Covering Thyroid Cancer, Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 4 p.m.

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivor’s Association will conduct a free workshop on “Covering Thyroid Cancer” on Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Lincoln Boardroom, as part of its 16th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference at the Clarion Hotel Conference Center, 76 Industrial Highway, Essington, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.

Media representatives and medical writers are welcome. The workshop will include questions and answers and free materials, including the 50-page handbook Thyroid Cancer Basics.

Thyroid cancer survivors will be available for interviews. Journalism students are welcome.

Thyroid cancer has increased rapidly in incidence in recent years in both men and women. More than 60,000 people will be diagnosed with thyroid cancer in the United States in 2013.

Thyroid cancer occurs in all age groups from young children through seniors. It has several types and variants and is treated differently from other kinds of cancer 

The 16th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Conference will take place on September 27-29, 2013, at the Clarion Hotel Conference Center, 76 Industrial Highway, Essington, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia with over 100 sessions and 70 speakers, including 40 physicians and other specialists from around the United States and from India.

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of thyroid cancer survivors, family members, and health care professionals, dedicated to support, education, and communication for thyroid cancer survivors, their families and friends.
