ThyCa Cleveland OH Support Group

Meets: ThyCa Cleveland meets the second Saturday of every month from 9:45 to 11:15 am. Check in at 9:30.

Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, we are exercising an abundance of caution for the well-being of our support group members. As such, we are canceling all scheduled support group meetings for the foreseeable future. Having said this, some support groups are holding a conference call in place of their canceled meeting.

Please take care of yourself. We suggest that you follow the precautions recommended by your local health agencies and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. https://www.cdc.gov/

Special Events: The guest speaker at our April 11 meeting is Barb Driver. She is a Lead Volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. She will be sharing information about what this Network does related to how they advocate for cancer patients and their families to influence legislation.  Here is a link to her story: https://www.fightcancer.org/news/why-i-advocate-barb-diver.

Our June 13 meeting will be replaced by our participation in the Strongsville Relaly for Live event. We will have our own team again this year. Click here for registration info.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 23-25, 2020, you are cordially invited to the 22nd International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference, in Los Angeles, California, USA.  This event is sponsored by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.

Dozens of leading thyroid cancer specialists from around the country will speak and answer questions about thyroid cancer care and research.  The weekend also features speakers and roundtables on skills for coping with thyroid cancer.  This educational and supportive conference is for people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as caregivers, friends, health care professionals, and anyone interested in thyroid cancer. Scholarships to cover the registration fee are available on request.  Walk-in attendees are welcome.

Nothing discussed at a support group should be considered as a replacement for a doctor's care. We do not give medical advice. We do share support and our own experiences. We are each ultimately responsible for our own care.
