Meets: The Thyca Fresno, CA Support Group meets the second Saturday of every month from 11:00 AM to noon.

Note: The August 9 meeting will be from 10:00 AM to noon to give our guest speaker, Mr. Bob Marcotte, enough time to speak about his wife's cancer journey. See Special Events below for details.

Special Events: Our guest speaker on August 9, Mr. Bob Marcotte is a local author, musician, and photographer. He was his wife's caregiver for the four years of her cancer journey. He is dedicated to telling her story and helping other patients and caregivers on their cancer journeys. 

Mr. Marcotte has spoken to many cancer support groups and has written a book entitled "You Mean, Besides the Cancer?" It covers the period of time between his wife's diagnosis through cutting edge surgery that was done at Stanford Cancer Center.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 17-19, 2014, you are cordially invited to the 17th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference, at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Denver, CO, USA.  This event is sponsored by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.

Dozens of leading thyroid cancer specialists from around the country will speak and answer questions about thyroid cancer care and research.  The weekend also features speakers and roundtables on skills for coping with thyroid cancer.  This educational and supportive conference is for people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as caregivers, friends, health care professionals, and anyone interested in thyroid cancer. Scholarships to cover the registration fee are available on request.  Walk-in attendees are welcome.
