|Special Events:||The June 13 meeting will include a free seminar on therapeutic mobility training with guest speaker Gwint Fisher, M.A., CSCS. The meeting begins at 10 a.m., an hour earlier than usual. The first half hour will consist of a 30-minute therapeutic mobility training session. If you would like to participate, wear loose gym-style or yoga clothing. The training session will be followed by an hour of questions and answers.
About the speaker: Gwint Fisher, M.A., CSCS, has been trained in the natural movement of the body to address pain as a result structural dysfunction while improving strength and conditioning incrementally without injury. He has a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and is certified in a variety of training methodologies. Gwint works with a variety of clients ranging from working professionals to competitive athletes. He owns Ranchos Fitness and Wellness Center and works with the Clovis Unified School District to develop effective and safe physical education programs.On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 2-4, 2015, you are cordially invited to the 18th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference, at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel in St. Louis, MO, USA. Dozens of leading thyroid cancer specialists from around the country will speak and answer questions about thyroid cancer care and research. The weekend also features speakers and roundtables on skills for coping with thyroid cancer. This educational and supportive conference is for people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as caregivers, friends, health care professionals, and anyone interested in thyroid cancer. Scholarships to cover the registration fee are available on request. Walk-in attendees are welcome.
