ThyCa's Research
Grants are open to all institutions and all researchers worldwide.
Grants are awarded on the basis of scientific merit, regardless of
hospital or institutional affiliation. Grant recipients are selected
through expert peer review by an independent panel of the American
Thyroid Association, the professional association of thyroid clinicians
and researchers. Our research fundraising campaign unites survivors,
family, friends, neighbors, and loved ones in an international effort
to raise funds to combat thyroid cancer.

- ThyCa To Award Three New Thyroid Cancer Research Grants in 2012
- Team Neck and Neck, coordinated by Tina Descovich, will participate in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2012 on January 7 and 8. The team members are raising awareness and raising funds for ThyCa. They will wear the special Neck Check Awareness running shirts from ThyCa, designed by Tina. Details about the event and Team Neck and Neck are at www.teamneckandneck.org.
- March 18, 2012. Dancing for Thyroid Cancer Awareness and Support. Christine Ciletti and other volunteers from the ThyCa South Florida Support Group (http://www.thyca.org/sg/fl_tricounty.htm) are hosting a dance benefit. - Dinner/Auction a Big Success:
The 11th Annual Dinner/Auction Fundraiser, held Saturday evening during the Conference, was a tremendous success, raising $40,000 for thyroid cancer research, with inspiring talks including tributes to longtime ThyCa friend and Medical Advisor Ernest Mazzaferri, M.D., who was honored at the dinner. This wonderful support helps ThyCa continue to fund thyroid cancer research—now totaling more than $900,000. ThyCa is pleased to announce that we will award three new research grants in 2013.

- Sunday, May 6, 2012. Golf Tournament Fundraiser. 11th Annual Megan Stendebach Memorial Golf Classic in San Antonio, Texas, to benefit ThyCa, and sponsored by Hangin' Tree Saloon, San Antonio. In addition, the Chili Cookoff on March 17, 2012 raised funds to kick off this annual golf classic in memory and honor of Megan, longtime ThyCa volunteer.

- September 15, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. Thyroid Thunder in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Thyroid Thunder 5K Run/1 mile walk organized and hosted by Meghan Wright. Rain or Shine.
