Thyroid Cancer Support Group Begins in Chandler, Arizona (01/09)
ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc. (www.thyca.org) is pleased to announce the formation of the ThyCa Chandler/East Valley, Arizona Support Group. The free support group meets on the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cancer Center at Chandler Regional Medical Center, (Education Room, first floor),1875 West Frye Road, Chandler, Arizona. The group welcomes people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as their family members and friends. Joan Hedman is the group’s facilitator. ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc. is a national nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization of thyroid cancer survivors, families, and health care professionals, advised by internationally recognized thyroid cancer specialists. The organization is dedicated to support, education, and communication for thyroid cancer survivors, their families and friends. ThyCa also sponsors Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month, year-round awareness activities, and thyroid cancer research fundraising and research grants. The 12th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Conference will take place in Boston, Massachusetts on October 16-18, 2009.
