Six Physicians To Speak in Stanford, California, June 23, 2012, at Free Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Workshop

Six Stanford physicians will speak on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Northern California/Bay Area Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Workshop. The workshop will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Stanford University Cancer Center, 8785 Blake Wilbur, Stanford, Califoenia, in the 2nd floor Conference Room. This free event is sponsored by the nonprofit ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc. (www.thyca.org) and is open to everyone interested in thyroid cancer.

The workshop is a free day of education and support for people at all phases of thyroid cancer testing, treatment, and follow-up. aregivers, friends, and everyone interested are welcomed to come and learn from physician speakers, and to learn and share with other thyroid cancer survivors and families.

  • John B. Sunwoo, M.D., F.A.C.S., Head and Neck Surgeon, Stanford University

Program topics include Thyroid Cancer Management, Thyroid Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, 1-131 RAI Treatment and Scanning Techniques,.Ultrasound in Thyroid Cancer Surveillance, Neck Recurrence and Neck Dissection, and Chemotherapy for Thyroid Cancer.
